New Hobby

You are looking for an exciting summer course to do while staying at home this year. You've tried baking and you're tired of sourdough and banana bread and want to try a new hobby.

You struggle with the visual arts strand of fabric and fibre and need new ideas for the coming school year. You have an interest in the environment and climate change but are not sure how to creatively teach children about it. By the end of this short course (10 hrs online + 10hrs offline), you will be able to sew and teach children how to sew in the classroom.

Sewing is one of the most effective ways to combat climate change and do your bit for the environment.

Sewing is not as hard as it seams

If you're worried that you have never sewed before, this course will ease you into it perfectly so that you're ready in September to teach the children in your class how to sew, without any injuries. There is no sewing involved in the course so you will not need any equipment during the course. Instead, you will have videos and many new ideas to keep.

Now is your chance

The fashion industry is the second most damaging industry in the world. It affects both the environment and people across the globe. 80% of your clothes will end up in a landfill or will be incinerated.

During this course, you will learn many more facts about fast fashion and how we must change it through sewing. This will range from Junior Infants to 6th Class.

You will be a leader of change in your school for the future of our planet.
