FAQs

Will my hours be tracked if I watch the videos on the course?

Yes, the system will track your time while you are busy watching and learning. Don’t worry the videos are really interesting, worthwhile and not too long!

Is it safe to be using sewing needles in the classroom?

If safety precautions are taken into consideration, there is no reason why real sewing needles can’t be used in the classroom safely and effectively. Alternative solutions are provided in the course for those who are reluctant to use real needles. Don’t worry, we’ve thought of everything.

Will I be able to save the resources provided on the course?

At the end of the course and certain modules, you will be able to download a PDF with all of the lesson plans. To save energy all lessons have been uploaded onto one file for your convenience this year.

Will I be assessed for my sewing on this course?

You will not be assessed for your level of skill in sewing in this course. I hope that relieves you of any undue pressure first of all.

Following feedback from previous teachers who have completed the course, they wished there was more opportunity to showcase their efforts in creating resources for their class so we decided to switch things up this year.

In Module 5, you will have the option to complete either a written task or creative assignment. The choice is up to you! Again it will be based on the effort you’ve made to try to learn how to sew rather than the skills you have at the craft.
